The area served by the practice is in the Devon Primary
Care Trust which is responsible for ensuring
you get all the services you need. The PCT is based Exeter.
Complaints
We aim to give a friendly and professional service to all out patients.
However, if you have any concerns about any aspect of our service
please let us know. Speak to whoever you think most appropriate
– doctors, practice manager or our reception staff will be
happy to help.
The PCT operates a Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) which
can often help to resolve any problems about healthcare services
in the area before they become formal complaints. To speak to a
PALS adviser ring 01803 861829.
Patient Confidentiality
We respect your right o privacy and keep all health information
confidential and secure.
It is important that the NHS keeps accurate and up-to-date records
about your health and treatment so that those treating you can give
you the best possible advice and care. This information is only
available to those involved in your care and you should never be
asked for personal medical information by anyone not involved in
your care.
You have a right to know what information we hold about you. If
you wish to see your medical records please write to the practice
manager.
Closer-to-Home
The Closer-to-Home scheme started in Totnes in 1988 and co-ordinates
care for the elderly, disabled and those in need. There are regular
meetings between social services and health authority workers. These
meetings help to plan for any care or support you may need at home.
Totnes Caring
Totnes Caring is a voluntary organization which helps with transport,
shopping, home visiting and support of carers. It publishes a regular
newsletter and keeps patients in contact with support groups and
other amenities in the area.
